Traditional games have brought people together for decades.

They create laughter, are the ultimate ice-breaker and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

The inspiration for my collection of games comes from all over Europe and I have thoroughly enjoyed researching them, making them and playing them!

This mixture of games for hire are for 1, 2 and 3 or more players – and new ones will be added all the time. Some will challenge any adult, and some will keep children entertained for hours – great for weddings or any event catering for every generation

I believe in trying to ‘tread lightly’ – all games are made from 100% reclaimed, natural or found materials in my little off grid workshop in South Devon. Set up together they create a quirky little area which will add interest and fun to your upcoming event.

Below are individual pictures – along with a very brief description – and yes – I have totally made up some of their names!

The clog game (Jeu des Sabots)

This game originates in Belgium and quite simply requires you to throw objects into the clogs – most in wins

Labyrinth

A traditional marble maze with a twist!! Two or four players have to work collaboratively to move the marble on a suspended board! Tense!!!

Flick-a-Disc

Flick-a-disc brings the competitive people to the table! Start with five discs at each end of the board , and – using the elastic – be the first to ping every disc into your opponents side!

Marble Maze

Carefully move the marble in the square block up the board to the top avoiding the holes. Tricky!

The Fishing Game

This game is trickier the more players there are. Fish your pegs into the corresponding coloured holes. Fastest wins.

Balance Disc

Throw the dice and choose a wooden piece to place on the corresponding ring. If the balance disc tips and pieces fall you are out!

What’s in the box!?!?

A really fun game for two to four players. Try to find the weird and wonderful objects – WITHOUT LOOKING!!

The Long and Winding road…

Good hand/eye co-ordination is required to move the ball along the ‘road’ without dropping off the sides. The further you get the higher the score.

Kerplunk

This is the first giant game I made. I found the bin dumped at my local beach, wove the basket and whittled the hazel sticks. Lots of fun!

Dominoes

A giant rustic set of dominoes – perfect for playing outdoors!

Bullseye

Use the elastic to shoot discs towards the bullseye – taking out any opponents on the way if you can! For up to four players

Yahtzee

The classic dice game – sized UP! For two to four players with a bit of time to chill!

Pricing: For the above selection of twelve games, there is a flat fee of £250 for up to 6 hours play. This will include set up and take down at timings to suit your day. It also includes an attendant who can offer playing tips, answer your guests questions, reset games and keep things tidy – where required. For venues further than 10 miles from Torquay there will be a charge of 50p per mile.

Rules of the Games

  1. The Clog Game (Jeu des Sabots)

For multiple players. Each player collects an equal number of nuts of their choice. Decide where you are going to stand to throw, and mark the spot. Take it in turns to throw a nut, and the one with the most nuts in either clog is the winner

  1. Flick-a-disc

Two players. Start with five discs at each end of the board. Draw the discs back against the elastic and let go – sending them through the slot into your opponent’s side. The first to clear their end of the board of ALL discs is the winner

  1. Marble Maze

One player challenge. Put a marble into the hole in the square block. Use the strings on either side to move the marble up the board – avoiding all the holes – to the top ‘WIN’ hole.

  1. The Fishing Game

2 – 4 players. Choose a colour, then stand all the corresponding hooked pieces randomly in the central area of the board. The winner is the first to hook all the pieces of their own colour and place them in the holes in front of them.

  1. Balance Disc

For multiple players. Each player takes it in turns to throw the dice. The player must select any piece and according to the number thrown, place it on the corresponding ring on the balance disc. If you tip any pieces off the disc you are out!!

  1. What’s in the box

For two to four players. Turn over a wooden disc to identify your item, then put your hands through the holes in the box to try to locate it by feel only! No cheating! The one to find the most items first is the winner.

  1. The Long and Winding Road…

One player challenge. Move the ball along the ‘road’ aiming for the 100 hole at the end. The further you get, the more points you will score. Very tricky!

  1. Kerplunk

For multiple players. Set the game up by inserting all of the wooden sticks into the metal frame – in the red coloured area. Tip the balls in on top, and place the basket under the frame.  Players take it in turns to remove a stick releasing as few balls as possible. The player who has released the fewest balls at the end is the winner.

  1. Dominoes

2 – 4 players. Turn all dominoes face down and spread out on the floor. Each player picks 7 to start, and does not show them to their opponents. Whoever has the highest double lays that domino first. Players then take it in turns to add to the laid dominoes matching the numbers. If you can’t go – pick another domino up. Winner is the first player who lays down all of their dominoes first.

  1. Bullseye

2 – 4 players. Choose your colour discs. Take it in turns to draw a disc back against the elastic and let it go – aiming for the red centre of the bullseye. When it is your turn you can choose to knock your opponents out of the way – anything in the dark brown area is ‘out’. The winner is the disc closest to the bullseye.
